Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you pre register: your phone number, email address, where you are based, your age group and your answers to the short questions on the form.

When you book: your name, email address and phone number, and what you bought (passes, stays, extra beds), along with your booking reference and the amount paid.

When you join the Journal list: your email address.

Payments are handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; we only receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded.

Like most websites, we record basic technical information: pages visited, the link or ad that brought you here, device and browser type. Where we record an IP address to prevent spam, we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it.

Why we use it

To confirm and manage your booking, including sharing the booking holder's name with the venue for accommodation check-in.

To send you festival announcements, ticket information and updates by email and WhatsApp, which is what you ask for when you pre register or book.

To answer your questions and help you at the festival.

To understand which pages and ads work, so we can improve the site and spend less on advertising that does not.

To keep financial records we are required to keep by law.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that run the festival and this site: Razorpay (payments), Hostinger (hosting and our database), Google (the pre-registration sheet and Google Analytics), Meta (Facebook and Instagram ad measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (site usage), and with the venue for accommodation.

For ad measurement we send Meta your email address and phone number only in scrambled (hashed) form, so Meta can match a visit to an ad without receiving the details themselves.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage for analytics and ad measurement (Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity), and to remember a referral link for up to 30 days. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site and checkout still work without them.

How long we keep it

Pre-registration and newsletter details are kept until you ask us to remove them or the list is no longer used. Booking records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to hearing from us at any time. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Pre-registration and bookings should be made by adults. If a child is attending, a parent or guardian should book and provide their own details.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
